Your cards’ total value is your score. So, for instance, if you are dealt a 10 and a jack, your score is 20. You have four choices after your first two cards are dealt: 

• Stand
• Split
• Surrender
• Double down

The dealer goes last. They must stand if they have a 17 to 21 and take a hit if their total is lower than that. If the dealer goes bust and you have 21 or less, you win. You also win if your hand beats the dealer’s.
