May 2016 TACHI PALACE DONATES $40,000 TO KINGS COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS
LEMOORE, CA – As part of an ongoing commitment to support deserving non-profit organizations in the local area, Tachi Palace was pleased to donate $40,000 to the Special Olympics of Kings County at this month’s community breakfast. Fundraising efforts began with Tachi Palace’s 2016 Charity Golf Tournament which took place on Monday, May 2nd at the Kings Country Club in Hanford. The tournament raised an astounding $35,685.16 through both the support of local sponsors and player participation.
Tachi Palace continued fundraising for the Special Olympics of Kings County at the May community breakfast which took place on Friday, May 27th. Over 350 members of the community came out to support this wonderful cause while socializing with friends and colleagues. A total of $1,815 was raised at the breakfast, but Tachi Palace General Manager Willie Barrios matched that total and then added an additional $684.64. That brought the fundraising total to an even $40,000! Dee Fricks, Area Director for the Special Olympics of Kings County, was in attendance along with a group of inspiring Special Olympic athletes who accepted a check on behalf of the organization.
The next community breakfast will be held Friday, June 24th. This monthly event features a full breakfast buffet, informative community news and business networking, as well as raffle prizes and the opportunity to mingle with old friends and make new ones.
