June 2016 TACHI PALACE COMMUNITY BREAKFAST SUPPORTS VISALIA EMERGENCY AID COUNCIL
LEMOORE, CA – Tachi Palace’s most recent community breakfast took place on Friday, June 28, 2016. All of the proceeds benefited the Visalia Emergency Aid Council (VEAC) which is focused on providing food support to low income households. Approximately 310 members of the community came out to support this exceptional cause. A total of $1,600 was raised at the door, which Tachi Palace was pleased to match. General Manager Willie Barrios then rounded the total up even further to $3,500. Iris East, Director of VEAC, was in attendance and happy to accept the check on behalf the organization
VEAC operates the largest food pantry in Tulare County which gives them the opportunity to serve over 1,100 families each month. Their pantry is located in the heart of Visalia’s poorest neighborhoods where it is needed most. VEAC also serves the surrounding outlying communities through mobile pantries. Their belief is that “no child should go to bed hungry” which drives their passion to help low-income households stabilize the family environment by relieving the stress of food insecurity.
The Tachi Palace community breakfast is a monthly event held on the last Friday of every month which features a full breakfast buffet, informative community news and business networking, as well as raffle prizes and the opportunity to mingle with members of the local community.
