February 2016 TACHI COMMUNITY BREAKFAST SUPPORTS LOCAL CHAPTER OF PROJECT LINUS
LEMOORE, CA – On Friday, February 26, 2016, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino hosted a community breakfast supporting the local chapter of Project Linus. Over 350 members of the community turned out to support this incredible organization and learn more about their mission. A total of $1,682 was raised at the door, but General Manager Willie Barrios contributed an additional $2,918 on behalf of Tachi Palace bringing the fundraising total to $4,600.
Project Linus is a national non-profit organization with local chapters in all 50 states. Their primary mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” At this month’s community breakfast, Project Linus had many of their handmade blankets on display for guests to see.
The next community breakfast will be held Friday, March 25th and will benefit The Down Syndrome Association of Central California. The Tachi Palace community breakfast is a monthly event which features a full breakfast buffet, informative community news and business networking, as well as raffle prizes and the opportunity to mingle with old friends and make new ones. A $5 contribution is requested at the door which is donated to the organization chosen for that month.
