The 3rd W.S.O.P Qualifier

The Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino held the 3rd Qualifier for the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event on December 6th.

On December 6th the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino hosted its 3rd of 10 scheduled World Series of Poker qualifying events. 139 players participated in the “deep-stack” tournament, including the 2007 World Series of Poker Champion Jerry Yang. The ultimate winner was John D. from Bakersfield, CA. The 2007 Champion won his seat to the main event in a very similar tournament. Could John D. follow in the foot steps of the 2007 champion as a member of “Team Tachi”?

John won a prize package consisting of a $10,000 W.S.O.P. main event seat, airfare for him and a guest, hotel accommodations for him and a guest, and $2,380 in cash. This prize package is worth approximately $15,880 in cash and prizes. All for a $200 buy-in. Your next chance to join Team Tachi will be January 3rd,2009.

Before the tournament started we were pleased to make a preliminary announcement about the future “Jerry Yang Charity Challenge” tournament event to be hosted at the Tachi Palace. This tournament will benefit local charities and will feature appearances from well known professional players and actors. We will also host a charity auction during the tournament for items donated by the special guests, all to benefit charity. Please check our website for details coming in early 2009.
