The Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino held the 1st Qualifier for the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event on October 4th.

On October 4th, 2008 the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino kicked off their annual World Series of Poker “Main Event” qualifying series of tournaments. For the 1st time ever, this series features “deep stacks” of $10,000 starting chips! This marks the 7th consecutive year that the Tachi Palace will send players to the World Series of Poker and was the first of 10 scheduled tournament events; each sending the winner to the W.S.O.P Main Event.

Dustin F. from Visalia, CA. came away with the victory and will receive a package consisting of roundtrip airfare for him and a guest, accommodations for him and a guest at The Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino during the main event, $1,115 in cash, and of course, a $10,000 entry into the 2009 W.S.O.P. Championship Event!

The next event will happen November 1st at 12 noon and will feature an improved blind structure. These events will continue on the 1st Saturday of every month until May, 2009. Sign-ups begin at 9am. Get here early and secure your seat for a chance at the millions at stake at the 2009 World Series.
