158 players filled up the Tachi Palace Poker Room on Saturday, April 4th, all eager to win their seat to the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. This was the 7th event of our 10 scheduled tournaments that will send players to the Main Event this year. Proudly, this is the 7th consecutive year we have sent players to the W.S.O.P. as members of “Team Tachi”. 2007 World Champion, Jerry Yang was playing in the tournament and made an announcement with further details concerning the “Jerry Yang Charity Challenge” to be held at the Tachi Palace on May 9th at 10am. Some celebrity guests that have already confirmed their attendance at this $300-buy-in event include renowned poker players such as Men “the master” Nguyen and JJ Liu, as well as actor Stephen Baldwin. More details and attendees are to be released soon. For the second time this year, Jerry Yang found himself at the final table and this time he was not denied. Before eventually claiming all 1.58 million chips in play, Jerry found himself locked in quite an arduous heads-up battle with a Tachi regular and very game Debbie E. Because nobody knocked Jerry out of the tournament to receive the free entry bounty, the bounty has been awarded to Debbie and she will receive an entry to our April 18th event. Most poker fans know that Jerry won his seat to the 2007 W.S.O.P. when he won his title from a very similar tournament at a Native American property in Southern California. Could this be the year that a member of Team Tachi wins the coveted bracelet? Only 3 chances remain! Come out to Tachi and take your shot April 18th, May 2nd, and May 16th at 12 noon. Seats fill up fast, so please arrive early.
